Apologies for this really last minute announcement. We were not made aware of it until now…
There are spots available for the Hopkins District’s *FREE* Cub Scout Fun weekend at Carrie Murray Nature Center this Saturday from 10-12:30 and 12:30- 3pm. This is a fun day of outdoor adventure designed to get our scouts outdoors! In addition, scouts are encouraged to bring friends who are interested in potentially joining them in their scouting adventure. Each youth will have the opportunity to participate in four activities, including archery, hiking, model rockets, and a live wildlife demonstration!
This year with COVID-19, the district has decided to modify their outdoors program to ensure the safety of all involved. In addition to social distancing, requiring masks, temperature checks, and offering sanitization, they will be limiting the number of participants. Each time slot will be limited to 40 youth who will be split up into pods of 10 scouts/guests. Each pod of scouts will rotate between activities to keep groups small.
This event is completely optional – it’s just something fun and scout-y to do to get out of the house.
For more information and to sign up please click here and fill out the form. This event is free and they will be accepting signups till the morning of, so please sign up. Feel free to bring a friend as well (they will also need to sign up) – that would be a great way to try to complete your Recruiter requirement!
