Installing Minecraft
Installing Minecraft[edit | edit source]
To install Minecraft, you'll need two things:
- A Mojang account and Username
- Minecraft client software
Mojang Account and Username[edit | edit source]
Registering for a Mojang account is free. To register and choose your Minecraft username, visit:

Once you have registered and have a username, email that username to pack3807bsa@gmail.com so that we can add it to the approved list.
Minecraft Software[edit | edit source]
Downloading the Client[edit | edit source]
There is a one-time cost to purchase the Minecraft client. There are two types for desktops - a Windows version and a Java version. We strongly recommend the Java version because it is more compatible with Scoutcraft and with Minecraft in general. To purchase and download the client, visit:

Once you have downloaded the Java client and open it for the first time, you will log in using the Mojang account you've created.
Configuring the Client[edit | edit source]
Once you have the client installed and you are logged in with your Mojang account, you will need to configure the client to connect to the Scoutcraft Server. For instructions on how to do so, see Configuring the Client Software.
Configuring Mumble (the voice server)[edit | edit source]
Mumble is another server we host that allows players to verbally communicate with each other in real time. It runs at the same time as the Minecraft client, in the background. Mumble is similar to Discord, a very popular voice service for gaming, but we have complete control over it so we can ensure that Scoutcraft players are safe and can't access unwanted content. Discord, on the other hand, allows users to join any group, even groups that are not age appropriate. The Mumble client is free to download.
